Theres 2 ways for a server to go. Both are difficult and require work, but each one has its pros and cons.
First option, build and manage as many game types (i.e. survival/creative/parkour/various minigames) as you can to appeal to as many players as you can. This in my opinion is the harder route to take and more difficult to manage in my opinion because its literally a web/matrix of games all going on at the same time, requiring more staff, and giving way to problems popping up literally every second, every day.
Take 2, and in this servers case, it's more linear in terms of gametype. It's survival. One gametype, one server, no confusion, straight up (bitch). The first con easily noted by most people upon joining is the lack of variability. "oh its just survival, its just factions nothing more" and yes, it is. But it's made up for by (and this is my suggestion) by plug ins. Things to make it as unoriginal as possible, but not too far off or it gets claustrophobic and confusing to people. A stronger amount of plug ins and exciting things to heighten the experience outside of just plain old survival. It's much easier to manage when it is just 1 server.
Of course there are many plug ins that can be suggested, and maybe polls can be started to decide. I'm curious to know what you people think!
